Absentee Voting

How to receive your absentee ballot.

Last November, Michiganders voted 2-to-1 for a constitutional amendment that makes it easier to vote. As a result, voting has never been easier in Michigan.

Every single Michigan citizen now has the right to vote by absentee ballot in any election, for whatever reason. As trainees, you don’t have the privilege of having Election Day off -- but now you can vote before Election Day, by mail or in person at your city or township clerk’s office.

Below is a link to an absent voter ballot application for you to fill out and return to your local clerk. By checking the box labeled “3b. Future Elections,” you can sign up to be placed on the permanent absentee voter list, which means that you will be mailed an application every year. You can still vote in person at your polling place on Election Day if you choose, but this way, you’ll never have to choose between voting and your obligation to your patients.
