Our union siblings, the UM Professional Nurse's Council (UMPNC) has been in negotiations with the hospital for months. Their campaign has been focused on preserving staffing ratios, safety, and the rights of APRNs.

The contract between the nurses and the hospital expired on March 31 with no real movement from Michigan Medicine towards an acceptable contract for our colleagues. You can read more about negotiations here.

As a result, the UMPNC is hosting an Informational Picket on Sunday, May 17 in Fuller Park. We support our nursing compatriots and urge HOA members who are available to show up and wear red. You can RSVP here.
