The Grand Round Up: July 2026
Here is what is going on in UM Labor in July of 2026.
Here are some updates regarding our fellow unions here at the University of Michigan:
- MNA-UMPNC, the nurses union, recently completed contract negotiations for a new agreement. The three-year agreement contains wage increases of 4%, 4.5%, and 4.75% along with a $3,000 ratification bonus, improvements for APRNs, and better staffing language. Congratulations to the nurses on a hard fought victory.
- The Lecturer's Employee Organization (LEO) recently had a wage reopener for its members working at UM Flint. LEO was able to secure an additional 1%/year of increases for their members there, meaning all Flint Lecturers will receive a 4% raise each of the next two years rather than the 3% originally in the contract. We also with them our congratulations.
- The Graduate Employee Organization (GEO) is still in contract negotiations with UM and we hope they are able to secure a good agreement for their members.
- The Postdoc Union (UM-PRO) is in negotiations for a first contract with UM after securing their union last academic year. We hope their first negotiations are fruitful and they get their members the contract they deserve.
