Immediate membership for the UH South Wellness Center is one of the negotiated benefits of our collective bargaining agreement. House Officers do not need to join the waitlist.  In fact, House Officers should not join the waitlist, as it can delay processing your access to the facility. The correct method for House Officers to join the gym is to email UHSouth-wellness@med.umich.edu and indicate you are a House Officer.

The UH South Wellness Center offers convenient access to physical activity equipment and services, as well as other health and well-being programs, to Michigan Medicine faculty and staff. It is available to members 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Location: 8th floor of UH South (the easiest way to get there is to take one of the Number 9 elevators to the 8th floor)

All House Officers are eligible to join the UH South Wellness Center at any point during their training program. The cost is $10/month and will be paid through payroll deduction. To initiate the application, please email UHSouth-wellness@med.umich.edu and indicate you are a House Officer. Once eligibility is confirmed a link will be emailed to complete registration. Once signed up and consenting to payroll deduction for your payment method, your U-M ID badge will be activated within 1-2 business days to access the Wellness Center.

The HOA negotiated that ALL House Officers would have access to the Wellness Center and therefore, you should not be waitlisted. Important - Please do not add your name to the membership waitlist as this will delay the eligibility/activation process.

Memberships can be canceled at any time by emailing: uhsouthcancellation@med.umich.edu. There are no refunds or partial refunds given. You must cancel at least one business day prior to the end of the month to avoid charges for the subsequent month.
