Legal Services Option
Consider signing up during Open Enrollment.
The University of Michigan Legal Services Plan entitles you and your enrolled dependents to receive certain personal legal services. The available benefits are very comprehensive, but there are limitations and other conditions which must be met.
If you don't have a will or are planning on buying or selling a home without a real estate agent, this might be the time to sign up. The list of services is long and there is no limit to how many times you can use this service. For more information, click on the link below.
Please note, there is no service available for reviewing employment contracts.
In addition to what is already covered, the following services will be added in 2025:
- Divorce, dissolution and annulment (contested and uncontested)
- Custody order
- Enforcement or modification of support order
Plan benefits will be denied if you do not call MetLife first, before contacting an attorney. MetLife Legal Plans 800-821-6400. Your UMID# is required for identification purposes.
