After an evaluation of its existing optional life insurance plan, Michigan Medicine is making a move to increase its minimum coverage from the current $5,000 to $10,000. Those employees who are currently utilizing the optional life insurance benefit will have the ability to either maintain their current coverage level or buy-in to the $10,000 minimum plan. Starting January 1, 2025 new employees will have the $10,000 minimum plan available.

Please be aware that this only applies to those who elect to purchase the optional life insurance plan through Michigan Medicine, the free university life insurance plan all House Officers receive is unaffected.
