Need Something Notarized?
HOA Members Receive Free Notary Services
HOA Staff can notarize documents for dues-paying members at no charge. Your Step-3 form, documents for medical licenses, or even non-work related items — just make an appointment with us. If you need something printed, contact us after you schedule your appointment and we can arrange for you to email us the documents.
What is a Notary?
The content of the document is, by and large, irrelevant to the notary. A notarization is verification by an authorized individual that they witnessed a specific person sign the document — usually nothing more and nothing less. For this reason, it is important that you do not sign your documents before arriving.
Remote Notary / Electronic Notary
In the state of Michigan, there are very strict requirements for any sort of notarization that is not in-person and on paper, including a limited list of approved software. This software is cost-prohibitive, so we are only able to offer traditional in-person notarizations. However, if the entity you are sending the document to accepts a PDF upload, we can scan the notarized document and email it to you during your appointment.
Where can I get something notarized?
The House Officers Association offers notarization services to members of the Association. This article explains the details on how to get something notarized.
Steve and Dominic are notaries. They provide notary services complimentary for members of the HOA.
Please refrain from signing any of your documents prior to your appointment. There is a color printer in the HOA Office if a color copy is required when the document requires a passport quality photograph.
Appointments are highly recommended; you may be turned away if you do not have one. We recommend calling the HOA Office before stopping in without an appointment. Same-day appointments are often available.
Schedule an Appointment
Appointments are for dues-paying members of the UM House Officers Association. Appointments made by non-members will not be honored.
