If you are unsure about being assigned to cover job tasks routinely done by a Nurse Practitioner  (protected positions bargained for by the UM Professional Nurses Council) or Physician's Assistant, or another professional or even a non-professional classification, contact the HOA and the issue will be discretely investigated as to the appropriateness.  

The jeopardy system is routinely used to cover for the unplanned absence of another House Officer.  House Officers are not assigned duties as part of a long-term staffing model.  However, in the best interest of patient care, exercise professional judgment if this type of situation should present itself. Issues typically resolve without a grievance.
